Maintenance of Proficiency

Physicians must participate in continuing professional development (CPD) as a Standard of Practice to demonstrate that they are maintaining their knowledge and skills throughout their careers.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) offers one of the two available and approved CPD programs, Mainpro+® (Maintenance of Proficiency). The Mainpro+ program is designed to support and promote CPD for family physicians.

Members must fulfill Mainpro+ requirements to maintain their membership in the CFPC and/or their CCFP designation.
